Court Square Café has New Management… Pattie Boykin, Meriwether County native and resident of Warm Springs, has been delighting customers with her wonderful cooking since October. She is now general manager of Court Square Café and hopes to meet you all very soon. Pattie has many years of cooking experience, most recently at Callaway Gardens Resort Hotel. During the winter the Café will be open for lunch Tuesday – Sunday from 11 am – 3 pm and also on Monday when court is in session. In addition to regular menu items, Pattie offers chef specials and homemade desserts. You are also invited to reserve the banquet room for private parties. It holds up to 44 for seated dinners and the menu can be as creative as you like!

Look for changes to begin soon on Court Square in Greenville. City of Greenville has finally received the money from Georgia Department of Transportation to proceed with Phase II of the Downtown Streetscape project to replace sidewalks and install new pedestrian lights on the northwest section of the square. Greenville Better Hometown is trying to raise the additional $125,000 needed to complete the sidewalk improvements on South Depot all the way to College Street and refinish the retaining wall around the courthouse. Welcome Jazmin Palomera, director of the Meriwether County Animal Shelter. She was raised on an Arabian horse farm in Newnan, Georgia from 4 years old to 20 years old. After working for many years at that farm, Jazmin and he fiancé, Joshua Storey, decided to move to Gay, Georgia, where they have happily started a life together. Jazmin enjoys long trail rides with her Egyptian Arabian gelding, Hassan and hanging out with her 3 dogs in her spare time. Whether with dogs, cats or horses, Jazmin is always with an animal of some kind. With many years of experience with animals, Jazmin’s goal for the animal shelter is to steadily move towards becoming a very low-kill shelter, which she has already begun to take big strides towards. Welcome to Molly Ferguson, new Admissions Director for PruittHealth Greenville, skilled nursing and rehabilitation center’s Sub-Acute Rehab Inpatient Unit, Long Term Care Unit and Secured Memory Care Unit. Molly was born and raised in Lagrange, Georgia but moved to Manchester, Georgia after she graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2011. While at Georgia Southern University, Molly studied Education and Sociology. She has worked in Skilled Nursing Facility and Long Term Care Admissions for the last year in Columbus, Georgia, but is very excited to now be working in Meriwether County. She very much looks forward to learning more about the needs of the community and serving in whatever ways she can to help the people and community thrive. Roosevelt Warm Springs is serving a delicious comedy with outrageous county-fried characters when “Della’s Diner” plays at 7:30 p.m. on March 13th, 2015. “Della’s Diner” tells the tale of Della, her mixed-up relationships and the threatened future of her diner. The story hinges on the experiences of three women. Della has escaped a dark past and settled on her very own mountain. Her beautiful daughter Ramona is home after a failed attempt to make it as a country music singer. And Connie Sue Day is a fresh-out-of-prison former country music star with sass and spark.
