Congratulations to the City of Manchester for their receipt of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for their fiscal year end 2014 comprehensive annual financial report.
The Government Finance Officers Association awarded this certificate to only 146 organizations in the State of Georgia. These organizations included cities, counties, school systems, and authorities. The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal.

The Manchester Development Authority is recruiting for two individuals to work at the 370,000 square foot Goody Building in Manchester. Both jobs involved general maintenance and repairs; and one will serve as the “straw boss” (working supervisor) for the other. Duties may involve electrical work; repairing flooring and ceilings; painting and plumbing. For more information or to apply, contact Joan Caldwell at 706-957-1908
