Located in West Central Georgia, Meriwether County lies on the Piedmont Plateau, within the “Golden Triangle” formed by Atlanta, Columbus, and Macon. With easy access to I-85, our unique location puts Atlanta’s Hartsfield International Airport 35 miles northeast, while Georgia’s third largest city, Columbus, is 40 miles south, and Macon 60 miles east. In summer the average temperature is 68 degrees. About one-third of the days from December to February have a temperature of 32 degrees or lower, though it rarely falls below 20 degrees. There are approximately 200 frost-free days per year.
